The Special Representative of the United Nation Secretary General for West Africa and the Sahel and former ECOWAS Secretary General, Muhammad IBN Chambas, has commended the Commandant General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, for its level of preparedness towards the forth coming general election.
He made this known during a courtesy visit to the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja as part of his mission in Nigeria to engage different stakeholders and actors for peaceful, well secured election. Stating that, successful election depends on conducive environment where all voters can vote without fear and intimidation, thus; as the task falls on all security agencies, it becomes imperative to work closely with NSCDC to encourage the protection of all and sundry, prevent those intending to truncate the election process and ensure neutrality on the part of the Corps.
