CAC HOLDS CUSTOMERS FORUM IN LAGOS

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is convening the second in the series of this year’s first quarter Customers’ Forum and it is slated for Thursday, 29th March, 2018 at the Ostra Hall & Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, by 10am.

The first leg in this year’s first quarter of Customers’ Forum took place in Kano city last week, Thursday 15th March, 2018, at Royal Tropicana Hotel, Kano, with the Commission’s various stakeholders comprising CAC’s accredited customers including, accredited Lawyers, accredited Chartered Accountants, accredited Chartered Secretaries in attendance.

The CAC’s Customers’ Forum is interactive in nature and provides opportunity for the Commission’s esteemed accredited customers, stakeholders and members of the public to directly engage top Management of the Commission on all its services. It also serves as a veritable window for top Management of the Commission to provide first hand information on the Commission’s products and services.

The Forum is organised periodically in furtherance of efforts towards deepening communication with the Commission’s customers and other stakeholders as well as provide opportunity for stakeholders and members of the public to have a one-on-one interaction with top Management of the Commission on its services.

Also at the Forum there will be presentation and demonstration on frequently encountered issues while using the Companies Registration Portal which enables customers to register their businesses online.

Other benefits accruable to participants are opportunity for instant registration at no extra charge, at the last Forum in Kano, instant registrations took place and the certificates were generated and issued to the beneficiaries by the Ag. Registrar-General. Therefore for persons desirous of registering their businesses during the programme, they are enjoined to come along with a means of identification (National Drivers Licence or National Identity Card or International Passport or Permanent Voters Card), 2 passport photographs and payment cards, as payment for the Commission services is strictly online.

Expected at the Lagos Forum include among others, Legal Practitioners, Chartered Accountants, Chartered Secretaries, members of Nigerian Association of Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), entrepreneurs and members of the general public.

The Commission’s Board Chairman, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ag. Registrar-General, Lady Azuka Azinge, the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Chairman of Section on Business Law, NBA Chairman, Ikeja and Island Branches and other dignitaries are expected to feature at the event.

Some of the services provided by the Commission include incorporation of Companies and Trustees, Registration of Business Names, conducting searches, processing statutory filing of Annual Returns, registration of Share Capital Increases/Mortgages, monitoring compliance with CAMA by companies and conduct of investigation into affairs of companies as demanded by shareholders.
