Former Nigeria’s President and one of the founders of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development(NEPAD),Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has called for greater support for the Agency, stressing that it was a home-grown initiative by some past African leaders who saw the need of an initiative that would cater to the social, economic and political challenges of member States.
The former President, who played host to the Agency’s CEO ,Princess Gloria Akobundu in his Abeokuta home,Saturday, said good understanding of the mandate of the Agency was important in driving the Agency in the right direction, while expressing happiness at the efforts made in the last ten years to cover almost all the States of Africa.
