FG Presents Housing Keys To Beneficiaries Of Fish Programme

The Federal Government has officially handed over keys to the Beneficiaries of the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme in keeping with its commitment to make housing accessible and affordable to Civil Servants across the country.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita handed over house keys to the first thirty two of the FISH programme at the ceremonial handing over of Keys in Abuja on Monday, 17th December, 2018.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita while congratulating the 32 Beneficiaries for being home owners, seized the opportunity to reiterate her resolve toward the full realization of the FISH programme in the provision of quality and affordable homes to Civil Servants,

“This is a significant milestone in the FISH Programme. A full realization of its objective in improving the access of Civil Servants to quality and affordable homes. At last, we can proudly say that we have some Civil Servants who have become homeowners under the Programme”.

She acknowledged the working partnership between the Real Estate Developers, the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board and the FISH Programme which has contributed immensely to the actualization of the provision of affordable houses to Federal Civil Servants.

Speaking earlier, The Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack in her opening remarks congratulated the off-takers as being the first beneficiaries of the FISH Programme and proud Landlords/Landladies. She further advised the beneficiaries to live up to their commitments in ensuring that they keep to all obligations and responsibilities of new home owners.

In her remarks the Executive Secretary of Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, Dr. Hannatu Fika thanked the Head of the Civil of the Federation for her commitment in the improvement of the welfare of Civil Servants which has culminated in the handing over of housing keys to the beneficiaries. She added that her commitment is being exemplified by her full approval to proposals given to her that are aimed at cushioning the hardship of Civil Servants.

Speaking on behalf of the Beneficiaries, both Mr. Lazarus Idorenyin from Ministry of Defence and Mr. Ernest Patrick Paul from National Income and Wages Commission registered their unalloyed gratitude to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and commended her visionary leadership. They expressed their appreciation for making their dreams of making their dreams of becoming home owners a reality. They added that they will surely spread the good tidings of this great development in order to disabuse the minds of some Civil Servants who are still in doubt about the reality of the FISH programme to also key into the programme.

Twenty Beneficiaries under AB Brainy Technocrats Ltd and twelve under the Messrs. C2Q Nig. Ltd benefited under the first phase of the presentation with a promise of many more beneficiaries in the coming months.
