The House of Representative Committee on Pension led by its Committee Chairman, Hon.Adamu Hassan Shekarau to PTAD Headquarters in Abujafor an executive briefing on the build up to the upcoming verification for the South West and North Central Civil Service Verification Exercise.
At the briefing, the Executive Secretary welcomed and intimated the Honourable members on the progress made with the just concluded North East, South-south, North West and South East zones which commenced in 2015 with the total number of verified pensioners standing at 56,587 pensioners.
She further stated that there is need for the legislative members unwavering support towards the prompt payment of monthly pension and the agency’s quest to conclude the North Central and South West zones with an estimated number of 63,532 pensioners.
In his response, the Chairman of the House Committee, Pension, Honourable Adamu Hassan Shekarau expressed his gratitude for the executive briefing invite on the proposed verification exercise and commended the Executive Secretary, Sharon Ikeazor for her resolute, steadfast and proactive strategies in tackling pension issues and the committee will continue to give her the support she needs on this onerous task of improving the welfare of pensioners.
