NEPAD Nigeria CEO, Princess Akobundu, Honoured As Ambassador Of The Catholic Church

…Pledges More Commitment to Service-delivery in  Church Activities.

National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer, NEPAD Nigeria, Princess Gloria Akobundu, has expressed greater readiness to commit herself to the development of the Church and the people of God, while describing same as the only path to true happiness.

Princess Akobundu stated this at a ceremony held on New Year’s day to honour her as Ambassador of St.Ita’s Parish, Ibeme, Okigwe Diocese of Imo State. She further stated that the Award would spur her to do more acts of goodwill and piety in order to live up to the expectations of the Pastoral Council, the Parish Priest and the entire Parishioners of St. Ita’s Parish, who in their kind judgment had selected her for the conferment of the distinguished Award.

While thanking the leadership and Parishioners of St. Ita’s Parish for the Award, which she hinted was not the kind usually procured in cash, the NEPAD Nigeria boss said the Award was most gratifying, coming from her own people on the first day of the New Year.

The Ambassadorial Award of  St. Ita’s Catholic Church, Ibeme, as the name implies, confers on the recipient the status of a Special Representative of the Church wherever she may be. She is expected to avail herself of the opportunity of the honour to promote, propagate and constantly carry out activities that are aimed at developing the Church.
