Abuja, March 6, 2025 (NAN) The Director-General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu has commended the Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative (URNI) for its efforts on strengthening national patriotism and youth development.
Issa-Onilu gave the commendation when a delegation from URNI led by the Lead Strategist for URNI, Mrs Obiageri Ndulue paid him a courtesy visit on Thursday in Abuja.
The NOA D-G commended URNI’s vision and reaffirmed NOA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national rebranding and civic responsibility.
He spoke extensively about the National Values Charter, the Nigeria Promise, and Citizen Codes all in the National Identity Project which helps defines who a real Nigerian is.
He acknowledged that changing the mindset of Nigerians, particularly the younger generation, requires a collaborative approach between government agencies, private sectors and civil society organisations like URNI.
Speaking, Obiageri emphasised the critical role NOA plays in fostering unity and patriotism.
According to her, the aim of the visit is to foster a discussion on deepening patriotism and national consciousness among Nigerians, especially the youth.
“We also want to explore collaborative efforts aimed at repositioning narratives about Nigeria and instilling a renewed sense of national pride”.
She highlighted URNI’s upcoming projects, including the “Nigeria Through My Lens” campaign, the URNI Symposium, the URNI Novelty Match and the Faces of Patriotism book distribution to schools.
“All of which aim to reinforce national identity through impactful storytelling and education”
“With this development, URNI continues to position itself as a leading advocate for national rebranding, working closely with stakeholders to redefine Nigeria’s image and inspire a generation of patriotic citizens,” she said.
