Erudite constitutional lawyer and frontline human rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has been appointed Visiting Professor of Law by Abia State University, Uturu, into its Faculty of Law.
The appointment is with effect from the 2022/2023 academic session.
In a statement made available to newsmen by the university management, its decision to engage the Law guru was to tap from his broad scholarship, research, mentorship and knowledge of the law with a view to helping the citadel of learning to keep towering higher in its Law academic endeavours.
The appointment is also in recognition of the Law czar’s enviable contributions to the legal profession as well as human rights advocacy.
In the letter signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor O.M. Ogbulu, the university wrote interalia: “This is in recognition of your outstanding contributions to national human rights advocacies, constitutional law and enviable professional standing in the legal profession.
“It is our hope that your association with the Faculty of Law, Abia State University, will support its academic endeavours and provide the highest source of wise counsel in that discipline, given your pedigree and contacts.”
Earlier in the year, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), had appointed Professor Ozekhome as a Visiting Professor of Law into its College of Law.
