President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to imbibe the Culture of diligence and integrity in the discharge of their duties for enhanced productivity.
The President gave this charge during the 17th National Productivity Day Celebration and Conferment of National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Award Wednesday, 22nd May, 2018 in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari in his keynote address, stated that great premium is placed on NPOM Award as award of honour and dignity. He therefore congratulated andcommended the Awardees for their well-deserved award and also for distinguishing themselves through diligence and integrity in their respective endeavours. He called on them to drive the change agenda and leave no stone unturned in fighting corruption.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita,who was one of the recipients of the NPOM Award, attributed the award being conferred on her to diligence and assured Mr. President and Nigerians to expect more productive Service delivery.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chief (Dr.) Chris Chibueze Ngige said without enhanced productivity the Nation cannot progress economically and encouraged all sectors to exhibit productivity consciousness in all their endeavours.
