Victims Support Fund (VSF) in continuation of the implementation of its programmes aimed at rebuilding lives and restoring livelihood to victims of insurgency on 14th November 2017 launched its agro based intervention in Borno State. The dry season farming scheme is to enable people that have returned to their homes improve food security, have a source of livelihood and reduce dependence on charity for survival.
One thousand three (1300) households in Kukawa, Hawul and Konduga Local Government Areas have been identified and selected to benefit from this programme. Beneficiaries were provided with improved varieties of seed, fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, sprayers and water pumps to support dry season farming.
Victims Support Fund has been carrying out interventions in Borno State, these include: promoting education for children through the provision of learning materials, introduction of foster care programmes for orphaned children, providing psychosocial support for women and children, economic empowerment for women, strengthening health systems to cater for the medical needs of victims, reconstruction of public buildings and peace building advocacy.
