Victims Support Fund Launches the 2018 Education Intervention

Victims Support Fund (VSF) on 27th November 2018 launched its Educational Support Programme for the 2018/2019 school year, targeting school children in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States. The Educational Support Programme which was launched in Hong Local Government Area Adamawa State provides learning materials to school children who usually do not have access to educational materials.

The programme aims to improve access to quality education for children through the provision of teaching and learning materials. The materials include: Schoolbags, school sandals, textbooks, exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers andpackets of chalk.

A total of 64,000 Primary School pupils and 10,000 Junior Secondary School Students across 171 schools have been identified and registered to benefit from this project.

The schools selected cut across Hong, Madagali, Mubi North and Mubi South LGAs in Adamawa State, Askira-Uba, Chibok, Damboa, Hawul, Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas in Borno State, Busari and Tarmuwa Local Government Areas in Yobe State. This project will increase children’s access to education, equip education personnel and children with safety skills and improve learning outcomes.
