Pursuant to the earlier resolve to ensure equitable distribution of resources to the down trodden at the rural areas,the Ministry of Women Affairs has entered a partnership with Fidelity Bank Plc as part of measures to realize set goals.
Speaking during the formal meeting to wrap up the collaboration,the Honourable Minister retierated the need to capture the data of the vulnerable women as well as the women in the rural areas to ensure efficient data collation, storage and deployment approach to address existing gaps presently experienced in distribution of resources among the vulnerable women at the rural areas of the country.
She urged the rural citizens to come out during the data capturing through their cooperative groups when it kickstarts in few weeks time.
The Ministry will also be collaborating with National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Plc(NIBSS) to assist in the collation and provision of personal data on the vulnerable and women in the rural areas.
Speaking further, she added that the Financial institutions will be charged with the responsibility of opening accounts for them, onboarding of the women, integrating the cooperatives and a creating an E-portal through which sales of goods and services as well as transactions can be monitored and coordinated.
Speaking after concluding on the collaboration,the Divisional Head,Public Sector and Collection of Fidelity Bank, Mr Richard Madiebo thanked the Honourable Minister for providing them the opportunity to be part of programme that will benefit the vulnerable women in the rural areas, which is line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility policy.
