FIRST BABY OF THE YEAR: WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTRY DONATES FOOD ITEMS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR PATIENTS

The Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Barr Uju Kennedy Ohanenye has presented food and other gift items in addition to financial support to some patients on admission on behalf of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who was at the National Hospital Abuja to receive the first baby of the year in the Federal Capital Territory.
Some of the patients were children suffering from cancer, kidney and other medical challenges, received gift items and about N1.9 million naira from the Ministry of Women Affairs which according to the Minister was in consolidation of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during the presentation, Barr Uju stated that the present dispensation has outlined programs to improve the welfare and wellbeing of all Nigerians and her Ministry’s visit to the Hospital was in fulfillment of the arrangement “ This visit is to consolidate on the initiatives and coordinated plans of the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore the hopes of Nigerians and better days for our beloved country”
She also commended the First Lady, Sen. Tinubu for her inspiring leadership drive and motherly encouragement which has brought unprecedented hope to Nigerian women and the girl child “the Ministry is motivated to make these donations to the patients on behalf of the First Lady in furtherance of the renewed hope initiative especially to improve the wellbeing of women and the vulnerable children in our society”
The Minister also made cash presentation to first babies born on 1st January in the Federal Capital Territory between 2012 and 2023 and commended their parents for taking care of them while urging them to remain steadfast on their upkeep as children are the future hopes for a better Nigeria.
Responding to the Minister’s charity visit, the Chief Medical Director of National Hospital, Dr. Mahmud Raji commended her for the consistent support and visit to provide succour for the indigent patients which she started prior to her appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It will be recalled that the Minister used today’s visit to monitor the recovery of some patients who she visited with food items and financial support during her recent birthday celebration which she marked with visits to hospitals in the Federal Capital Territory.
